Where Am I? Why Am I Here?

Where Am I? Why Am I Here?

I catch myself day dreaming about getting away again, about hitting the road and wondering what this adventure will bring me? Dreaming about having a beer in an underground bar in Budapest;  getting a body piercing at 3am in Mykonos; walking through

the concentration camp in Auschwitz; or finally making it to the town where my dad was born, in the middle of Siberia. Then I realize that I am still at work in remote Western Australia, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. I feel myself wondering what am I doing here, this is not where I want to be and this is not where I am meant to be. I am meant to be somewhere else, I don’t know where just somewhere

else.  On the road, living out of a backpack trying to figure out where my next stop is? Chatting to other backpackers at the Hostel and finding out those places that they just happened to stumbled upon. Those little hidden gems that a fellow traveler passed onto them before they ventured into that mysterious country. Those that you only really understand when you see it with your very own eyes, hear it with your very own ears and smell it with your very own nose. They will explain to you that you must go to that restaurant run by this larger than life guy with one of the best moustaches that you have ever seen. You will make friends in an instant that will last a life time. You will

leave them as fast as you met them and just hope that one day that your paths will cross again so you can chat about all the amazing places you have seen and all those amazing cultures you have experienced.  That is where I rather be, where ever that is? I should not be here, I should be there.

To all the amazing people that I met and to all the amazing people that I will meet, thank you for being a part of my journey, you have all taught me something and you are all treasured.

The Big Chill Review. Contiki Europe 2012

My 1st Contiki review. I had so much fun on this tour.

Adventure of Epic-Ness, The BIG Chill Review, Contiki Europe 2012

If you are a young Aussie Contiki is a part of our lives. I remember saying to other travelers “It is not are you going to do a Contiki it is when?” So many young Aussie’s before me have been on Contiki and have all got some great stories to tell there friends and family. Contiki opened my eyes to travel and has changed my life. All I want to do now is travel, travel is now my life. Not the daily grind of the corporate world, not the challenge of finding that perfect job. It is how am I going to get there? How am I going to see that festival? How will I travel that country and who will I meet? What will there amazing stories be? Well I feel another “Travel Ramblings” post coming on. Love you all, Namaste.
